Damage simulations for large laser mirrors of laser neutralizer under proton and deutrons bombarding.
In non resonant photon trap concept for neutralization of powerful negative ion beams one of problems is the bombarding of mirrors by high energy particles. They are occured due to scattering ions or atoms on residual gas in transport channel. The simple estimation shows that it may be the main cause of mirror damage. The simulation data of particles scattering by background gas and their interaction with mirror materials will be presented.
