Description

Korea Multi-purpose Accelerator Complex (KOMAC) has started operation at 2013 as one of branches of Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). A 100-MeV proton linear accelerator has been operating for user service as a main facility. It has 4 beam lines such as general purpose beam lines, RI production beam line and low flux beam line. Recently, neutron production and radio-isotope beam production are studied to extend the application field of the 100-MeV proton linac. The energy upgrade up to 200-MeV is also proposed. Besides, several low energy ion beam accelerators are under development and operation, such as 1 MV electrostatic accelerator, 1.7MV tandem accelerator, 3MV tandem accelerator. In this paper, operation status of the KOMAC facility is presented. This work has been supported through KOMAC operation fund.
