Description
The BESIII collaboration has collected unprecedentedly large
data sets from $e^+ e^-$ collisions in the C.M.S energy range 2-4.6 GeV. These data, in particular $1.3\times10^9$ $J/\psi$ decays and $0.4\times10^9$ $\psi(3686)$
decays, provide a unique environment to study light hadron spectra and to search for exotic states. The talk will cover recent BESIII results including investigation of $X(1835)$, search for glueball states in radiative $J/\psi$ decays, observation of $e^+e^- \to \eta Y(2175)$ at center-of-mass energies above 3.7 GeV,
observation of $a_0(980)$-$f_0(980)$ mixing.
