Description
A study of the process $e^{+}e^{-} \to \pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ is carried out with the detector CMD-3 at the VEPP-2000 collider. An integrated luminosity of 84.7 pb$^{-1}$ was collected in 2011-2018 in the energy range 650-1060 MeV. The cross section of the reaction has been measured. This process gives a large contribution to uncertainty of the hadronic contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment. This measurement can be also used to test the relation between the cross section of $e^+ e^- \to \pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}\pi^{-}$ and the spectral function for the
$\tau^- \to \pi^{-}\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0$ decay predicted by the conservation of vector current (CVC).
