The CREMLINplus Detector School is organized for training young scientists on state-of-the-art particle detection technologies in the fields of heavy-ion-, nuclear-, particle- and neutron-physics. The main program of the school comprises morning lectures by world experts in their fields, hands-on exercises on various technologies in the afternoons, and excursions to the lab facilities. Social activities are organised during evenings and on the weekend.
The preliminary list of lecture topics:
- BINP HEP facilities
- Tracking
- Calorimetry
- Silicon detectors
- Neutron detection
- Particle identification
- Photodetectors
- Gaseous detectors
- Trigger and Data Acquisition
- ASIC design
- FPGA programming and applications
- Test beam analysis
- Communication in science
The school organizers envisage also about 20 elective experimental courses that will allow the school attendees to put their hands on various detectors and test them under the supervision of experts.
