Description
To investigate the increase in longitudinal electron beam temperature resulting from transverse-longitudinal relaxation and longitudinal-longitudinal relaxation in the electron cooler and electron target of HIAF, the numerical simulations of the beam relaxation process utilizing a molecular dynamics approach were conducted. The impact of the magnetic field on the transverse-longitudinal relaxation process, as well as the effect of accelerating tube length on the longitudinal-longitudinal relaxation, were examined. Additionally, the simulation results were compared with theoretical values to validate our findings.
