Description
A compact modified thermionic electron source was developed for the 6 MeV medical accelerator. The peculiarity of this gun is a significantly reduced size, due to a change in the power supply scheme. For this electron source, the beam characteristics were calculated. After assembling the gun, tests were carried out and the corresponding experimental data was obtained, which is in good agreement with the simulation results.
