Description

Two identical 54-pole indirect cooling wigglers with a 3 Tesla magnetic field and a period of 48 mm were designed and manufactured by ВINP SB RAS as the insertion devices for X-rays generation on the Kurchatov Synchrotron Radiation Source. After being delivered to the Kurchatov Institute these wigglers were tested in 2019 with a full test cycle to demonstrate operating parameters and installed on the storage ring for commissioning with electron beam. The main features of magnetic and cryogenic system design and tests results of these superconducting insertion devices capable of autonomous operation for a long time on the storage ring without maintenance and consumption of liquid helium are presented.
