Description
While B-factories data of prompt inclusive J/ψ production at √s = 10.6 GeV can be described with NLO NRQCD perturbative calculations, there is a significant discrepancy in the predictions of this model with the exclusive J/ψ cross-sections measured at center-of-mass energies up to 4.6 GeV performed by BESIII. This inconstancy is most likely caused by the failure of perturbative calculations close to the J/ψ production threshold.
New experimental results in the range of √s below the J/ψcc̄ threshold (∼ 6 GeV) could be useful for the determination of nonperturbative Long Distance Matrix Elements (LDME) that describe the hadronization of the cc̄ pair presumably in any process (proton-proton collisions, electroproduction, e+e− annihilation) and may help to establish the region of the NRQCD applicability.
